We have coaches for all kinds of things. Coaches for sports, of course. But there are also financial coaches, weight loss coaches, executive coaches…why not a coach for your soul?
Soul work coaching is about helping you to connect your life with the Mystery that’s all around us. Because when we feel that connection, we become more accepting, more compassionate, more content, and we live from our true purpose.
When we work together, we’ll meet for about an hour each time, on-line or in person. In those conversations, we’ll explore what’s going on in your life. But the goal is not really to “solve” the problems and issues you’re experiencing. I’m not a therapist and I’m not trained in mental health issues. My experience and training have focused on the spiritual life. Through that lens, the challenges we face are not so much things to be solved, as things from which to learn and grow and see what God might be nudging us toward.
I see my role as helping you to think, feel and live more deeply, more authentically, more joyfully, no matter what is going on in your life. We really can be in the world with a kind of joy that rises from within us, independent of our circumstances.
It requires that we learn to see with what mystics have called the “eyes of the heart.” Which isn’t as hard as it sounds. It’s mostly a matter of training new muscles. And that’s why a coach can be helpful. In addition to our meetings, I’ll occasionally send you a question to consider, a quote, or a reading I think might be helpful. In short, I’ll be in your corner, encouraging you and at times challenging you, just like good coaches do.
